Program

Please note: this is a modified program to replace Gergiev and The Eclipse. The original program consisted of Piano Concerto No. 2 (Tchaikovsky) and Act 1 from 'The Eclipse' (Raskatov). Instead, the program below will be played.

conductor Valery Gergiev
piano Alexandre Kantorow

Tchaikovsky Second Piano Concerto
Tchaikovsky Sixth Symphony 'Pathetique'

The 'Pathétique' is the poignant highlight of Tchaikovsky's symphonic oeuvre. Tchaikovsky died shortly after the world premiere in St. Petersburg of his Sixth Symphony. Our soloist in the rarely played Second Piano Concerto is the recent winner of the Tchaikovsky Competition, Alexandre Kantorow.

A COVID Certificate is required for access to our concerts (until at least 20 September). Click here for more information about the COVID Certificate.
