Brahms Violin Concerto | Beethoven Symphony No. 3 ‘Eroica’

‘There are few things in life more uplifting than a really good Eroica,' stated The Independent after a concert by the Rotterdam Philharmonic with Valery Gergiev in London in March 1997. ‘Epic,’ was the opinion of the reviewer. ‘Questions of period style were irrelevant: one felt this was “authentic” to the core.’ This Rotterdam reprise, 24 years later, has everything it takes to make history again.
