Dutilleux Symphony No.2 ‘Le double’ | Escaich Flute Concerto (commission, world première) | Ravel Daphnis and Chloe, second suite

A magical world in which to roam open-mouthed: in his Second Symphony Dutilleux takes us from one delight to the next. With his inexhaustible palette of orchestral colours he was the heir to the throne of Ravel and a role model for Escaich. ‘Seductive, sensual', was how de Volkskrant described Escaich’s Ritual Opening, which launched the Gergiev Festival 2019. This bodes well for his new flute concerto.

This concert is also part of the Red Sofa series of de Doelen.
