conductor Manfred Honeck | soprano Christina Landshamer | alto Marie Henriette Reinhold | tenor Patrick Grahl | bass Mikhail Timoshenko | orator Fred van der Hilst | choir Groot Omroepkoor | Gregorian choir Cantores Abelardi
Mozart Symphony No. 40 | Mozart Maurerische Trauermusik (Masonic Funeral Music) | Mozart Laudate Dominum | Mozart Requiem (unfinished) | Mozart Ave verum corpus

Death was just around the corner when Mozart wrote his Requiem. While on his deathbed he dictated part of the work to a pupil, showing him how it should be finished. But even though the added sections had been suggested by the master himself, they pale in comparison to what Mozart himself had managed to complete. This performance, to commemorate the bombing of Rotterdam, restricts itself to what Mozart actually wrote, along with poems and Gregorian chant.
