Bartók Violin Concerto No. 2 | Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 5

Few violin concertos make such high and varied demands on their soloist as Bartók’s Second. It requires a technical wizard, a subtle tone painter and a born storyteller. In other words, someone like Leonidas Kavakos. ‘A miracle violinist,’ Trouw called him after a performance of that work. His last concert as Artist in Residence is the grand finale of this concert season.
