conductor Edo de Waart
bassoon Pieter Nuytten

Dvořák Serenade for Wind Instruments
Weber Andante and Rondo Ongarese
Dvořák Ninth Symphony 'From the New World'

America's lure tempted Dvořák to exchange his Prague life for the New World, where he wrote his Ninth. Less than a century later, Edo de Waart made the same crossing: he left Rotterdam to make a name for himself in the States and the rest of the world. Now he's home again. With this concert we celebrate his eightieth birthday and his precious half-century bond with our orchestra.

Introduction on Friday at 7.15 pm and on Sunday at 1.15 pm by Bart de Graaf.
