Helena Juntunen is one of Finland’s most prominent sopranos, with a major international career that she attributes to her generous voice full of desire and joie de vivre. She is equally at home in Puccini operas and intimate songs. With her permanent accompanist pianist she presents a selection of Sibelius’s finest songs. Conductor Jukka-Pekka Saraste takes a deeper look at the significance of Sibelius’s music.
