Program

conductor Jukka-Pekka Saraste | soprano Helena Juntunen

Sibelius Symphony No. 3 | Sibelius Luonnotar | Sibelius Höstkväll (autumn evening) | Sibelius Symphony No. 4

The first Sibelius festival closes with two phenomenal symphonies. The epic Third takes the listener on a thrilling adventure in the far north. The introspective Fourth does not give up its secrets lightly: the cellos play a leading role in this dark work full of intense melancholy. Helena Juntunen sings Luonnotar, the spirit of nature. That promises to be breathtakingly beautiful.
