In memoriam: Heinz Friesen

The sad news has reached us that our solo oboist Heinz Friesen died on October 23 at the age of 85. From 1966 to 1989 he was our solo oboist, he also played chamber music in various ensembles and he was a conductor, mostly of wind ensembles.

Componiste Mathilde Wantenaar is nog jong, maar krijgt sinds haar afstuderen aan het conservatorium al de ene na de andere opdracht. Intussen studeert ze ook nog klassieke zang. Op 11 oktober gaat een opdrachtcompositie voor het Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest in première. ‘Het compositieproces bestaat uit emotionele pieken en dalen.’
