Change in the Supervisory Board
Martin van Pernis, the chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, has indicated that he wants to turn over his position at the end of the season, in June 2020. The recruitment procedure for a successor has already been started. Van Pernis leads the Supervisory Board since 2014, he started in a turbulent period. Under his direction, a new management team has been appointed and the orchestra has succeeded in finding an excellent successor for former chief conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin in Lahav Shani. In recent years, the orchestra has undergone a positive development. The Supervisory Board and the orchestra management are very grateful to Van Pernis for the important role he has played.
