Rotterdam Philharmonic celebrates freedom together with four Rotterdam artists

For Liberation Day 2020, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra has made a video in collaboration with four Rotterdam artists. With the deserted streets of Rotterdam and the empty hall of de Doelen as a backdrop, they bring together an ode to freedom and connectedness in difficult times.

For Liberation Day 2020, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra has made a video in collaboration with four Rotterdam artists. YMP recites a text he wrote especially for this production, Dina Medina sings her song Mundo honeste, Aylin Sezer performs Händel's aria Lascia ch'io pianga and Roufaida can be heard with her song Ego; the musicians of the Rotterdam Philharmonic - with Chief Conductor Lahav Shani on piano - form the connecting links in an orchestral arrangement by Joos van Leeuwen. With the deserted streets of Rotterdam and the empty hall of de Doelen as a backdrop, they bring together an ode to freedom and connectedness in difficult times.
