Biography

David Kweksilber

David Kweksilber (February 12, 1973) is a clarinetist and saxophonist, at home in both composed and improvised music. Reviews repeatedly praise his great virtuosity. As a soloist and ensemble player Kweksilber plays in such diverse ensembles as the Asko|Schönberg and the New Cool Collective Big Band. He also founded his own big band for contemporary music with improvisational forms in 2008. He regularly plays together with piano improviser/composer Guus Janssen. Several Dutch composers write works for him. Kweksilber receives several awards for both his classical playing and his playing of improvised music.
