Biography

Jelle Roozenburg

Jelle Roozenburg (1995) has graduated at the Codarts Conservatory in Rotterdam in 2018, where Jelle studied jazz guitar with teachers Ed Verhoeff, Reinier Baas, Ronald Schmitz, and Ben de Bruijn. Besides his main subject lessons, he also took composition lessons with Stefan Lievestro and Paul van Brugge. Before his studies he attended the Havo for Music and Dance for three years, where his teachers included Erik Ball. During his studies he played in various bands and projects, including Kris Berry, Lucy Woodward, Thom Hoorweg, Kim Hoorweg, Beryl Anne. He also formed his own groups to perform his music, S.T.O.K. and Fat Easy Grey. Currently he plays in many diverse bands including New Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra, Shoebills, Lucy Woodward, Bonsai Panda (Louk Boudesteijn, Jelle Roozenburg), Alexander van Popta Quartet, Asbest (Jimmi Hueting, Jesse Schilderink, Jelle Roozenburg), Beryl Anne, Rust, Soil Painting, Beryl Anne, SPUNK and Willem! ! Besides playing in these bands he is also active as a composer and arranger for Bonsai Panda, New Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra, Shoebills, and others!
