Assistent Conductor

Adam Hickox is currently Assistant Conductor of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, a position he has held since September 2018. In his role as assistant conductor, Hickox will, among others, assist chief conductor Lahav Shani and the honorary conductors Yannick Nézet-Séguin and Valery Gergiev. In addition to his work as an assistant, Hickox will also conduct concerts.

About Adam Hickox
Adam Hickox studied with Sian Edwards at the Royal Academy of Music, where he received the Ernest Read Prize and the specially awarded DipRam qualification. He recently conducted the British premiere of Still for viola and chamber orchestra by Thomas Larcher, broadcast on BBC Radio 3. In his "Music of Exile" program, he performed with members of the ARC Ensemble works by exiled Jewish composers from the 1930s. He also assisted with The Turn of the Screw of the English National Opera. He has also conducted the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the Philharmonia Orchestra, and concerts at the St Endellion Festival. He assisted Raphaël Pichon at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence and has collaborated with, among others, Ryan Wigglesworth, Sir Mark Elder, Edward Gardner, Jac van Steen and Marin Alsop.
