In the days leading up to Christmas, Beethoven brings us a vision of a better world in which all people live in brotherly coexistence. That same dream is sung of in Vaughan Williams' Serenade to Music, an ode to the healing power of music. The two are linked by Richard Rijnvos's Europe, a world premiere that unifies all countries of Europe in music. Peace on earth: also in this time we need everything that gives wings to that thought.
