Gentle, intimate and hopeful: Fauré's Requiem is a reconciliation with the end. Emotional core is the glowing Libera me, a plea for liberation that is answered with a glimpse into paradise. A similar desire for freedom marks Brahms' Third under the motto "Frei aber froh" - and in this symphony, too, the quest for redemption ends in a hushed finale of heavenly beauty.

These concerts were originally scheduled to be conducted by Lahav Shani. Unfortunately, due to illness, he will not be able to join us on the podium. We deeply regret this and wish him a speedy recovery. We are pleased to announce that Matthew Halls will be stepping in as his replacement.
