In the happiest time of his life, Mahler composed his dark Sixth, an unprecedented symphonic tour de force. The listener is taken on a dream mountain walk along flowering meadows (cowbells in the orchestra!), grand vistas and fathomless abysses. That journey culminates in a hair-raising finale – according to Vestdijk 'the most poignant, most impressive final part ever written.'
The concert on Friday 16 February at 8:15 PM will be livestreamed on Medici.tv.
