Born: Oslo, Norway
Education: First violin lessons at age four; violin studies at the Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo; further studies with Kolja Blacher at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg and with Ana Chumachenco at the Kronberg Academy
Breakthrough: At age twelve as soloist with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Mariss Jansons
Subsequently: Berliner Philharmoniker, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Budapest Festival Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra; appearances at the Salzburg, Verbier, Lucerne, BBC Proms, Prague Spring and George Enescu festivals
