Dvořák's Cello Concerto

Symphonic24 Nov '23 - 25 Nov '23(Past)

Get on the train and travel along the trail of Dvořák's inexhaustible imagination.

These concerts were originally to be conducted by Andrés Orozco-Estrada and played by cellist Daniel Müller-Schott. Due to illness they will unfortunately not be able to perform. We regret this situation, and wish them a speedy recovery. We have found replacement in French conductor Alexandre Bloch and the South-Korean cellist Jaemin Han. The programme will remain unchanged.

An expectant melody that rises from the deepest regions of the orchestra: this is how Dvořák's majestic Seventh begins. “The theme came to me,” wrote the composer, “when I saw the train from Hungary pull into Prague station.” Board that train on this autumn evening, and travel along the trail of Dvořák's inexhaustible imagination, through the wonderful dreamscape of his symphony and his glorious Cello Concerto.
