'The season opening with conductor Peltokoski and violinist Simone Lamsma: she has grown from young talent to Dutch star, I want to hear and see her. Nice programme with film music too. Rachmaninov's Second Piano Concerto is my favorite and then Tchaikovsky's Fourth Symphony, very nicely put together. I play the piano, have heard it a lot since I was young and have been to several performances with my parents. Because I have such good memories of it, I now take my parents with me. I try to sit close to the pianist Beatrice Rana, to the left, to watch her finger play. Then Dvořák's Cello Concerto, a beautiful work that you really must have heard, so beautiful! My three-year-old son was so enthusiastic about Apennoten that I want to go there again. He thought it was great that he could hold the musical instruments in the support act and he watched and listened carefully to the concert for an hour. He asks every time: Mom, when can I come with you again to work? And then in June conductor Tarmo Peltokoski and trombonist Jörgen van Rijen, my former colleague at the Concertgebouw Orchestra. I find it very special that he plays a solo here, and then also a world premiere by Lopez Bellido.'
